Are Your Saboteurs Getting in the Way?

Meet Irina, Director of Data Strategy at Siemens and Margo, leader, certified executive coach and leadership development trainer at her company coaching without boarders.

We talk about how saboteurs have affected us professionally, how to identify and distinguish the internal ones from the external ones and how we’ve overcome them. Saboteurs stifle our ability to stay open, be present, and learn. All of which are important to finding the best solution and way forward in a world with continuous change, complex challenges, contradicting ideologies, and people with different backgrounds

Episode #24 In A Nutshell

My Key Take Aways from this conversation:

  1. Saboteurs have many origins: our childhood, upbringing, and what people tell us. Working through them can help to build character and resilience
  2. Build confidence and trust in yourself to reduce the effects of external sabotage. Remember small successes and give yourself credit for them.
  3. Spot a saboteur by paying attention to when you use “should” or pay attention to when you feel regret or shame. Swap your “shoulds” with “coulds”
  4. Educate yourself and take the saboteur test by Chizard Chamine: https://www.positiveintelligence.com/saboteurs/  or read his book on positive intelligence / saboteurs: https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/13221308-positive-intelligence
